The West Valley Mavericks’ Round Up Food Truck Festival is rolling into Goodyear Ballpark on Saturday, Sept. 24, and it’s bringing over 40 food trucks with it — for a good cause.
Among the selections are The Haymaker, fire-baked pizza, funnel cakes, tacos and ice cream. For the adults, there’s also beer, wine and cocktails to try.
“I enjoy being able to bring this type of event to the West Valley,” said Trisha Smith, West Valley Mavericks’ marketing director.
“It’s a free family event that will get a lot of people together and raise a lot of money for our spotlight charity, the 100 Club. The 100 Club is a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to families of first responders who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty.”
All of the money raised will go to the West Valley Mavericks Foundation, which disperses grants to more than 80 charities across the West Valley.
With the help of the community, the West Valley Mavericks have raised more than $500,000 for charity this year, putting the organization at over $2 million since it was founded 10 years ago.
Food and a good cause aren’t the only reasons to come to the party. DJ Dario of Phoenix is prepared to play music between sets, and Scottsdale-based band SuperHero will bring cover songs. While the event is free, VIP tickets are available for $150.
“The family fun zone should keep the kids entertained as well,” Smith added. “We’ll have bounce houses and face painting for the kids, and the VIP pavilion that will be open with complimentary bar, gourmet snacks and live music. We’ll have tons of different music available, as well as a fireworks show to end the night.”
