The Chippewa Valley is passionate about our food – and rightfully so. Summertime in the Valley means fun and tasty events both indoors and outdoors. What could be better? We’ve compiled a list of some of the cool food events happening in the Valley this summer.
We may be a little biased, but come on, Food Truck Friday is amazing. With a wide variety of food trucks like Smokestream, Holy Donuts, Olson’s Ice Cream, Dhimiters, Two Gals and a Fryer, and many many more. This year’s remaining FTF dates are June 3, July 8, Aug. 5, and Sept. 9, all in the beautiful Phoenix Park. Not to mention the trucks will be there from 11-7, which means you can snag lunch and dinner. (We don’t judge.)
Want to learn the art of pizza making from some local pizza pros? Forage Kitchen is hosting this event on June 9 from 5-7:30 pm. John Bender from Kitchen Techniques and Jacob Paulsrub from Covizza will be teaching how to make some delicious homemade pizza, including the dough, sauce, sausage, and mozzarella. You can purchase tickets for this event here: checkout.square.site.
Nothing like some sizzling bacon to go with your beer. K Point Brewing is hosting Bacon & Brews on June 11 from noon-8pm. Tickets are $10 and include your first plate of bacon and a pint of beer. A special bacon-themed bar menu will be making its annual appearance. To purchase tickets, you can go to thecoffeegrounds.com.
If you’re looking for a sweeter food event, Board and Brush Eau Claire is hosting this workshop to create beautiful spring-inspired decorated cookies as well as a mini tray to display your creations. this event will be on June 15 from 6-9pm. To register and purchase supplies, you can go to boardandbrush.com.
Another must-go event is the Summer Kickoff (formerly the Leinie’s Family Reunion) at the Leinie Lodge on June 18 from 10am-6pm. Have a cold beer and snag some food from one of the six food trucks while listening to awesome local bands, The Dweebs and Uncommon Denominator. There will also be vendors and games to play, making it an all-around fun time. You can purchase tickets ahead of time and save $5 by going to leinie.com.
The Lake Wissota Golf and Events is hosting Chef’s Dinner on the Water (previously Wednesday on the Water) for those that prefer a more high-scale food extravaganza. This will include a surf and turf four-course meal, with a new cut of meat and seafood every week, chef’s choice appetizer, salad, and dessert for $60. The delicious food will be served on the deck so patrons can overlook beautiful Lake Wissota. These events will take place on June 29, July 27, and Sept. 14 from 6-9pm. To make reservations, call Alyssa Barth at (715) 382-4780, ext. 2.
