The Golden Margarita, which operated as a Mexican restaurant during the day and a nightclub in the evening, has closed 21 months after taking over the former Paz Cantina space on the northeast corner of Roosevelt and Third Street in downtown Phoenix. The venue had been the site of several troubling incidents, including an alleged homophobic attack and multiple reports of gunfire.
