Police identify bicyclist struck, killed by car in southwest Phoenix – Arizona's Family

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) — A bicyclist is dead after he was hit by a car early Tuesday morning at a major intersection in southwest Phoenix.
Phoenix police say it happened around 5 a.m. near 59th Avenue and Buckeye Road, just west of the Loop 202 freeway. Investigators say a woman was driving eastbound in the area when she struck a man who was riding a bicycle, also eastbound, along the shoulder of the road. Fire crews pronounced the man dead at the scene, and he’s since been identified as Troy Rosales, 32.
At this time, police don’t believe alcohol or other impairment was a factor in the crash.
Buckeye Road was closed for several hours as detectives investigated the crash, but reopened early Tuesday afternoon. Click/tap here for live First Alert traffic updates.
