Located in Phoenix, Sauvage was the only Arizona wine shop on the list – The Arizona Republic

There are wine shops aplenty in the U.S., but “Wine Enthusiast Magazine” was looking for shops that offered more than bottles on shelves for their The Best Wine Shops in the U.S. list. Sauvage Bottle Shop in Phoenix made the cut.
Curated by industry experts like sommelier and beverage educator Jasmine Senaveratna, Sauvage was the only retailer from Arizona to make the list.
Owned by Chris Lingua, the bottle shop is located inside The Churchill in downtown Phoenix. Lingua, whose experience includes many years in the world of wine and spirits, opened his own shop in 2017 after a trip to France.

The French word Sauvage translates into wild or natural, and one of the reasons that Senaveratna chose Lingua as a top pick was because of his impressive natural wine offerings.
Sauvage carries over 200 wines ranging between $20 and $60. Lingua explained that he wants to make wine more approachable to people and “values exploration over expectation.”
Lingua plans to open a bigger shop and wine bar in the historic Helen Anderson House later this year.
When asked what the award means to him, Lingua said: “First and foremost, just honored to be included with so many great stewards of natural wine across the country. I just feel proud anytime Phoenix gets some love nationally. Not just for Sauvage, but also Phoenix, I think the best is yet to come.”
