In Pictures: From Elton John to Electric Picnic – A look back at Summer 2022 –

Summer 2022 has undoubtedly been one for the books, with Irish people returning to some semblance of normality after a two-year hiatus.
From festivals to famous faces roaming the streets, Ireland experienced never-ending excitement from May onwards.
We here at are taking a look back at the last three months, as the weather takes a turn and we say goodbye to the sunny days of summer gone by.
After two years of lockdown and a lack of live entertainment, summer 2022 brought concerts in abundance, with the likes of Westlife, Harry Styles and Red Hot Chilli Peppers all gracing us with their presence.
From the Aviva to Páirc Uí Chaoimh, the biggest names in the industry took to Irish shores to provide us with a much-needed summer of music.
Whether it was Ed Sheeran, Green day or Elton John, there was something for everyone this summer, ensuring that despite two years out of the game, Ireland’s still one of the best places for a live gig.
We’re not known for our good weather in Ireland, but summer 2022 saw us reach record heights, with heat wave after heat wave seeing us bask in the sun.
While it wasn’t always 99’s and sea swims these past few months, there’s no denying that this was one of our hottest summers to date.
Whether you were topping up your tan in Stephen’s Green or taking a dip at Blackrock diving tower in Salthill, it’s safe to say it was (mostly) a summer of sun for the people of Ireland.
Amidst the heatwave, GAA fans flocked to Croke Park to catch the event of the season, the 2022 All Ireland Final.
The Senior Hurling Championship was the first event to capture the nation’s attention, with Limerick and Kilkenny battling it out for the Liam McCarthy cup. Limerick ultimately took home the win for the fourth year in a row, with the side winning by just two points.
Next Galway and Kerry went head to head for Sam Maguire as The Senior Football Championship graced Croke Park this past July. The Kingdom were inevitably successful following a gruelling game in the heat.
Much like live gigs, festivals were sorely missed over the course of the pandemic, with many pundits holding on to their tickets for over two years in the hopes of their return.
Ireland started off a summer of fun with a double whammy weekend, with Bloom and Forbidden Fruit taking over Dublin’s Northside.
From June onwards it was chaos countrywide, with every weekend boasting another star-studded line-up. We rounded up the summer in style with an exceptionally wet Electric Picnic for the books.
Ireland resembled Hollywood this summer, as a variety of big names took to the Emerald Isle for a spot of rest and relaxation.
Bill Murray was spotted extensively gallivanting from coast to coast, as he enjoyed everything Ireland has to offer these past few months.
From Jamie Foxx to Harry Styles to Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker, LA’s elite took some time out to explore our shores, making the headlines in the process.
